Biography

Elaine Armelin is a full professor and researcher staff at IMEM-BRT’s Group (UPC). She obtained a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from Universidade de São Paulo (USP) and a PhD in Polymers and Biopolymers from UPC. She has participated in several national and international projects, publishing more than 150 scientific articles, being the co-inventor of 7 patents and have participated in more than 90 congresses. She leads knowledge transfer projects to public and private companies related to the sustainability of polymeric materials and engineering processes, projects committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG, United Nations). Currently, she is the quality manager of the IMEM-CIEFMA Tecnio Group (ACCIÓ), managing and reviewing works related to corrosion protection, quality control of metal structures, among other areas.
