Biography

Elaine Armelin is full professor and researcher of the IMEM Group (https://imem.upc.edu/en) at the UPC. She holds a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of São Paulo and a PhD in Polymers and Biopolymers from the UPC. She has participated in multiple national and international projects, published more than 150 scientific articles and is co-inventor of 7 patents. She is responsible for the work of the IMEM group related to corrosion protection, quality control of metallic structures, adhesion of plastics on metallic substrates, among other areas. She is currently leading knowledge transfer projects to public and private companies related to the sustainability of materials and processes.
