The work details the use of the results of rheometric and mechanodynamic measurements to study the formulation, properties and applications of coatings and paints. In principle, water-based coatings do not have the same advantageous rheological properties as those that contain solvent. If the formulation is not adequate, the flow properties, leveling, application method, layer formation, etc. are worse. To obtain the desired performance, thickeners and rheological modifiers are added.
